We prioritize the joy of learning and aim to deliver an enthralling experience where students are actively involved. This is why our courses are designed having in mind above all what the learners want and enjoy learning rather than rigid traditional courses.
Our objective is to transform education into an enjoyable adventure and an insight opener experience through a mixture of personalized tutoring and a rich cultural exchange. We believe that there is no place to have this experience better than the city of Oxford, home of the oldest English speaking university in the Western world, which combines academic excellence with vibrant cultural heritage.
At OYA we aim to provide high quality teaching that reflects that of the University of Oxford. This is why all our tutors are also Academics, Undergraduate tutors and researchers at the University of Oxford.
We believe that the first people who studied at what is now known as the University of Oxford did not do it to get a job, rather they studied whatever they enjoyed and found fascinating. This is why at OYA, instead of pre-designing a course syllabus that you might not enjoy, we will ask you in the application to write about the things you think are fascinating and we will make sure that you and your tutor have the same interest so you can have exciting and mind-opening conversations.
We don't expect you to come to Oxford and spend all your time studying. This is why at OYA we put a great focus on our activities programme where you will get together with people from around the globe and enjoy a multitude of intellectual, cultural and sporty activities in addition to touristic trips around the United Kingdom.
The academy is located in the city of Oxford, home of the oldest English speaking university in the Western world combining academic excellence with vibrant cultural heritage.
Oxford University is made up of more than 30 different colleges. Colleges are academic communities, where students usually have their tutorials. Each one has its own dining hall, bar, common room and library, and lots of college groups and societies.
You will reside in at least one college since we offer the chance to try a different college each week for a limited number of students. You will dine in the famous Oxford’s dining halls where the food is prepared by the best chefs of Oxford.
